Katie Westbrook, Deck Supervisor

I have been part of the Waterloo team for the past 4 years and am very excited to continue the Waterloo mission to help every child and adult enjoy and succeed at the sport of swimming. Whether you are learning a life-saving skill or competing at the highest level, I can motivate and inspire you.

I started as a young BCC Sharks swimmer and followed my dream to become a member of the Westwood Varsity Swim Team, swimming all 4 years and making All-District in the 100 Butterfly. I continued swimming with a scholarship at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, making the 200 Fly and the 1650 Freestyle my best events. I swam all four years and made All Conference in the 200 Fly. I graduated with honors with a degree in Elementary Education and am also certified in Special Education and Child Development.

For the past 8 years, I have combined my love of coaching with my philosophy that every child, no matter the age or experience, can learn to excel in this sport. I believe in the benefits of positive reinforcement and providing good quality instruction that is fun at every level. I am proud of the record number of STAGS times and time improvements achieved by my swimmers this past year! I love working with every age and brings waves of enthusiasm to the pool every day!
